About

Shannon intuitively creates strategies and communications that help companies matter more to their audience. She has 23 years of experience in business management and communications across technology, media and the arts. She is a master problem solver with an innate ability to crystallize ideas into actions. Drawing on a rare mix of visionary strategy and get-it-done style, she backs up her intuitive approach with a decisive management and implementation.

Shannon helps companies distill the essence of how to achieve their goals. When others are overwhelmed or stifled, she opens the critical path towards a positive outcome and helps people organize around any message, project or goal.  She artfully connects ideas with language to create visions, strategies, messaging, campaigns, programs, projects and events that resonate with their audience.

She spent the last 17 years as a partner helping build Horn Group – one of the hottest and most enduring agency brands in the tech industry. She drove the company’s expansion from classic PR firm to its pioneering leadership in digital communications (a discipline that combines PR, social media and interactive design). She’s led hundreds of companies through messaging, launch and results-oriented communications programs. She’s mentored hundreds of employees to find their voices as confident communicators and thoughtful counselors. She remains a consultant to Horn Group — acting as an executive advisor and the agency’s CMO — responsible for business strategy, marketing, and international relations.

Shannon’s past positions include public relations manager at Ingres/CA, co-manager of the SF Bar Association’s California Minority Counsel Program, contributing writer for various San Francisco magazines, and advertising associate for a national art gallery. Shannon served for four years on the board of BAVC, the largest independent media arts center in the country. She earned degrees in Communications and Music from Mills College, Oakland, Calif., and is an accomplished writer, pianist and photographer.
